6 Tips for the usage of overshoes

1. How to put on overshoes best?

When putting on the overshoes, do so with care. Your legs are very strong, and by pulling hard on the overshoe, you'll break them more quickly. First, insert your thumbs into the overshoe beyond the horizontal seam, pull the fabric apart so that you distribute the pressure over the overshoe, and then insert your foot. When your heel is past the horizontal seam, they will go on easily.

Neoprene Sockeloen overshoe: make sure the ribbed fabric of the overshoe is always on the inside of your foot. The neoprene (shiny/smooth) part at the ankle is always on the outside. This prevents the crank from damaging the overshoe. The fabric on the inside is smoother and more wear-resistant. How to:

 

1. Put on the overshoe and then the shoe. The upper part of the overshoe is too tight to put it over a shoe.

2. Pull the foot section over the shoe 

3. Close the bottom of the overshoe with the velcro closure.

 


Rain Sockeloen overshoe: the rain overshoe is put on slightly differently. Here, too, you must first put on the overshoe and then the shoe. Here's how to:

 

1. Put your foot through the front hole at the bottom of the overshoe and then put on your shoe.

2. Pull the toe part of the overshoe over your foot and you're done!

 

2. What is the difference between our Neoprene overshoe and our Rain overshoe?


We have two types of overshoes. The difference between our Rain and Neoprene overshoe is mainly in warmth:

 

The Rain overshoe is perfect for autumn weather and warmer winter days, and you can use it up to about 5 to 7 degrees. The Rain overshoe is also designed to keep your feet dry. 

 

The Neoprene overshoe is made of neoprene fabric, which is a thicker material to protect you from rain, splashing water, and cold feet. Below 5 degrees, we recommend the Neoprene overshoe because it retains heat very well.

 

3. What is the difference between Glossy and Plain?


We have two different versions of our shoe covers, the Glossy shoe cover and the Plain shoe cover. They are exactly the same shoe covers and both have the same function, the only difference is the design on the outside. Our Neoprene Glossy shoe cover has 5 stripes and our well-known Sockeloen logo on it. The Neoprene Rain shoe cover does not have this and is plain. 4. How can I make sure the shoe cover lasts a long time?

Our shoe covers are not made to be walked in a lot. However, we intentionally made the fabric on the toe and inside of the heel from a specific material that can take a hit, which wears out less quickly than neoprene. Nevertheless, the shoe covers last longest when you walk on them as little as possible. Especially on a hard surface, they wear out quickly.

 

5. How should I wash the shoe covers?

To prevent the shoe covers from deteriorating in quality, we advise you to rinse them with water under the tap and clean them by hand. For example, together with your bike after a wintry and cold ride. They can be washed in the washing machine, but we do not recommend this. This way you can enjoy our shoe cover for a long time!

 

6. Why are the shoe covers so tight?

In the past, there were often bulky shoe covers that were quite loose around the ankles, making them fit poorly and much less stylish. We wanted to change this. That's why we chose to make the shoe cover tight, making it a beautiful, stylish shoe cover. Our shoe covers excel in style, like all our products and can be suitable for both cold weather and summer.
